NP Collinson provides primary health care with an emphasis on wellness, nutrition, and preventive care. NP's are licensed to diagnose, treat and write prescriptions in the state of Michigan. Services include: complete physicial examinations, health assessments, treatment of common acute illnesses and chronic stable conditions. The practice of functional medicine assesses the entire person, including input from the environment, nutrition, mind, body, spirit, and their affect on the function of the whole person. In this way we can identify and treat the underlying causes of chronic medical problems, instead of treating only the symptoms. The NP collaberates with a physicians for more complex medical problems as needed.
Nurse Practitioner Collinson provides information on complementary therapies, nutrition and supplements, combined with traditional medical care, providing the best of both, in an integrative care approach.
NP Collinson has a special interest in the care of women and families, including annual gynecological examinations and procedures, menopause, health care of adolescent girls, nutrition/lifestyle management. The treatment of menopause includes the evaluation of hormone levels and prescriptions of bioidentical hormones.
NP Collinson coordinates FirstLine Therapy, a therapeutic lifestyle modification program, designed to assist individuals to improve metabolic balance to treat and prevent medical problems such as hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, obesity and inflammatory problems.
